NEW TOUR
USA AND WEST INDIES - MARCH / APRIL 2013
We would like to invite players and non playing tourists the opportunity to be involved in possible our best ever tour ! We have over 40 people signed onto this tour already and we will be limiting this tour to a maximum of 80 people in total.
This 18+ hockey tour to the West Indies and the United States departing 29 March 2013. We are anticipating this will be the ultimate hockey tour and our most exciting and popular tour yet.
Up to 4 teams will be taken (2 mens and 2 ladies teams plus non playing tour members).
Players of all levels are most welcome. Players will be placed in a team according to their level, so all players of ALL levels are most welcome to tour. Beginners and social grades to representative level players.
The tour is not just a hockey tour.... so non playing friends , mates and partners are most welcome to travel as well. Playing tour places are filled on a first come first in basis.
Tour inclusions include international flights, accommodation, transfers, travel insurance, games and internal flights in North America and the Caribbean..
All tours are paid off via a series of installments over 2012. Details of the three tour options are below:
TOUR 1 - THE BASICS - AN AWESOME TOUR ITSELF !
This tour takes you over to Los Angeles and onto the Caribbean island of Barbados. The tour will start with 5 days in Los Angeles, where you will play against local teams near LA, and have the opportunity to do some shopping and tour Santa Monica, Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
The tour will then depart for Barbados where the tropical weather keeps it warm all year round. We will stay at a fantastic beachfront resort near the lively St Lawrence Gap on the south coast of the island, where there are numerous bars, restaurants and shopping.
Each team will play 4 matches in Barbados against local clubs and then have the chance to socialise with them at our post match functions. This tour will arrive back into Australia on April 13 and will last for 16 days in duration.
TOUR 2 - THE BASICS PLUS ANTIGUA !!
They say Antigua has 365 beaches...one for every day of the year ! Antigua is a stunning island steeped in history.
Home of cricket legends Viv Richards and Curtly Ambrose, sailing regattas, pirates and the "JOLLY RODGER" ! With history going back to the 1784 , Antigua is a unique island. Come and feel at part of "Pirates of The Caribbean !"
This add-on package will see you depart from Barbados to Antigua via your inter-island flight, where you will stay on one of the world's most stunning beaches...Jolly Beach. You will stay in the marina resort of Jolly Harbour in self contained luxury 2 bedroom villas, which are only a 3 minute walk from the beach. You will also have the opportunity to purchase day passes, or passes for your entire stay to use the facilities next door at the Jolly Beach Resort, which is all inclusive food, drinks, beer, spirits, entertainment and use of the
resorts facilities including its massive pool and kids club for those with families.
You will stay in Antigua for 4 nights, with an additional night's stay in LA on the way back to Australia, where you can catch some last minute shopping at some of the outlet malls or take a trip to Disneyland.
This package includes additionally your flights from Barbados to Antigua, airport transfers, 4 nights accommodation in Antigua in 2 bedroom villas on a twin/triple share basis, accommodation on a twin share basis in LA for 1 night and airport transfers in LA. The tour is 21 days in duration and will arrive back into Australia on April 18 2013.
TOUR 3 - THE WORKS...
INCLUDING NEW YORK CITY !
This option combines tours 1 and 2 into the ultimate rock star tour !. You will travel to LA and Barbados on the normal tour, then onto Antigua with its stunning beaches, and then fly into New York. You will spend 4 nights in the Big Apple and have the chance to visit all the main attractions, including Times Square, The Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Central Park, The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the chance to see an NBA game, NHL ice hockey game or Major League Baseball with the Yankees or the Mets !
This package in addition to the above tours includes airfares between Antigua - New York and Los Angeles, 4 nights accommodation in Manhattan, and return airport transfers in New York. This tour is 24 days in duration and will arrive back into Australia on April 21 2013.
Again, you dont have to be a hockey player to go ! We welcome players aof all levels to be a part of our teams, and this will be a unique part of the tour which you cannot experience anywhere else !

About our 18+ Hockey Tours...
Our Adult 18+ tours are an overseas holiday with a difference. You may on other tours get to do a coach tour around Europe, South or North America, and you will meet new people on your bus and see the sights, but do you really get to meet the locals (besides those who sit behind the hotel desks?) Well you certainly do on a Wanderers Tour !!!
Not only will you get to see all the sights of the destinations you travel to with us, but you will get to meet and chat and get to know the locals - because you will play hockey against them ! You will also meet great new friends in your team that all have a common interest - Hockey !
Players aged between 18 and 60 are welcome to join us on tour, and we play against local clubs on tour in the countries we travel to. Players who play any grade of hockey, and veterans players are also most welcome also.
As with our junior tours, in most cases, the team is made up of individual players traveling alone on tour, so do not be put off touring if you do not know anyone, as everyone else is in the same situation !
On each tour, one mens team and one womens team travel together playing against local clubs along the way. Teams are matched up against teams of a similar level, depending on the mix of players that make our final team line up.
There are no tryouts or selections for our adults teams. Teams are filled on a first come first in basis. We usually take 14 ladies and 14 men who play, plus non players.
We also encourage those who do not play hockey to come along on tour, including non playing friends, partners, wives, husbands etc, as they too get to mix in with the locals and are just as much a part of the team as anyone else!
